Refraction of light through glass and around colored objects makes readability difficult. Of all surfaces, glass allows light to pass through and around printed branding, icons, fonts and images.

The base color is altered by spotlighting from uneven light sources like an interior hallway with recessed lighting or a conference room with glass exposed to sunlight. Recessed lighting creates ‘hotspots and cold spots’, where-as the sun constantly alters ambient light levels.

HDClear’s art team is conscious of light sources and finding the best print method to make each decorative film project present at its optimum. Our goal is to find the right blend of opacity and translucency so colors present readable images regardless of light source penetration.

Adjusting the brightness of our TV’s, computer monitors, tablets and smart phones is automatic with some devices auto-adjusting with ambient light changes. Glass Graphics and printed colors require a delicate balance, which HDClear is well prepared to deliver.

Backlighting and camera angle created the Black-Gold controversy. HDClear is well aware of this phenomenon and does an amazing job incorporating light to create images that glow with life.

With glass graphics, not only are light sources and intensities important, but knowing where the audience is likely to be standing is just as important. In essence, HDClear ‘stages’ the graphics by adjusting the intensity of color, placing the image at eyelevel and maintaining the optical clarity of glass.
